Telehealth Program

Telehealth has emerged as one of the true blessings of both the advent of high-speed internet and the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to telehealth, individuals can receive medical care in various settings. One of the best uses for telehealth has proven to be behavioral health and addiction counseling. At Transitions Treatment Center, we're proud to offer a robust telehealth program.

What can patients expect from our telehealth program?

Transitions Treatment Center has been using telehealth for years, and that use expanded greatly during the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, we have ample experience in this area, and we can help any patient utilize telehealth to receive the treatment they need and deserve.

First and foremost, patients can expect to use a HIPAA-compliant portal to communicate with a therapist and ensure that they receive therapy that respects their time and privacy. We can work with patients to ensure that they know how to use the technology and are comfortable with it.

Patients will get access to the same therapist they would have access to if they attended a session in person. They will benefit from first-rate, world-class therapy from our wide range of clinical professionals. As such, patients can expect to receive excellent treatment that helps them overcome their addiction.

Finally, patients can expect to reap all the benefits of telehealth. They'll be able to get therapy from the comfort of their own home or office and do so on a schedule that works for them. They won't need to worry about transportation, sitting in a waiting room, or worry about running into other people. Instead, they can sit back, relax, and receive all the benefits of therapy without ever having to get out of their pajamas.

Who is it for?

Telehealth has proven to be extremely useful for many of our patients. However, this is not the case for everyone. Telehealth works best for:
  • Individuals who are enrolled in an outpatient facility.
  • Patients who have already completed detox and do not require residential services.
  • Individuals who are comfortable with the idea of receiving therapy over the internet.
  • Patients have access to a secure, steady, and high-speed internet connection.
  • Patients who can find a location where they can have a private and uninterrupted conversation with one of our therapists.
  • Patients whose insurance will cover the telehealth appointment. Barring that, individuals may need to be prepared to pay for telehealth out of pocket.

What will you learn?

From a behavioral health perspective, there's terrific news: Patients can expect to learn identical coping skills to those that they would learn during an in-person session with one of our highly qualified therapists. As such, patients can expect to learn a host of skills and information, including (but not limited to):
  • Coping skills for managing cravings or stressful situations.
  • How to revamp their lives to limit the impact of triggers that may tempt them to turn back to alcohol, drugs, or prescription medicine.
  • Alternative ways of thinking that can steer a person away from illicit substances and toward more productive ways of thinking.
  • How to communicate their concerns and emotional needs better with people around them, resulting in more productive relationships and less reliance on illicit substances for emotional support.
