The evolution of Alexis Kennedy.

Alexis Kennedy, the creator of Failbetter and Weather Factory studios is a polymath, who over the years, has placed a unique interest in the creatives of game design, writing as well as the field of entrepreneurship. Failbetter studios was Alexis Kennedy's first video game company; with the Fallen London franchise as his pioneer project. Having been in the market for more than ten years, it has made a name as by far the finest browser-based video game of all time, gathering about two million users. He went further to partner with companies such as Random House, BioWare, the BBC and Channel 4 to create mind-bending games through his brainchild platform, StoryNexus, which has led him to win a chain of awards. His final project at the studio, Sunless Sea, was their first launch in PC gaming. It was released in early 2015 and made a resounding success, selling half a million copies in its first year. After seven years at Failbetter, Alexis Kennedy left the studio to explore the world of creatives and focus more on writing for larger studios; where he would learn from different perspectives. On this experimental adventure, he managed to write for Stellaris and work on major projects like the Dragon Age franchise and Telltale Games. His success in the creative world gave him the solid ground to create a second studio, Weather Factory, where he specialized in experimental narratives. One of his brilliant ideas was to create a gaming environment with a cloud of mystery; aimed at encouraging players to experiment with their freedom in a game rather than have a story with a clear and concrete direction. With a team of two developers, the newly established gaming studio launched Cultist Simulator as its first game in just less than a year, winning a number of awards in 2019.
