Welcoming Matt Cameron and Jon Miller to the Scripted.com Team
At Scripted.com, we've always believed that part of building a great company is putting the best people around us at all times. Our aspirations are high, and we want to surround ourselves with people who can help us achieve our goal of being the best content company on the planet. It's on that note that I'd like to welcome Matt Cameron, and Jon Miller to the Scripted.com family.
When we decided to hire a VP of Sales, we were cautioned by many that it's a very "tricky" and "dangerous" hire to make. We dove into the process and found two different types of candidates: the "process" person, or the ""consummate salesperson". Scripted is a unique case in that we needed someone directly in-between - we generate a lot of inbound leads, but needed help with sales process. We also have a huge list of aspirational customers, and we needed someone with the sales chops to help us get there. We looked at dozens of candidates, and Matt was the only one who fell directly in-between "process" and "sales". In the month and a half that he's been here, his contribution has been immeasurable. He is disciplined, motivated, efficient and most important, a great cultural fit/great guy. Welcome Matt, and here is to a successful tenure at Scripted!
When you think about content marketing, there are only a few people on the planet that can be considered world authorities on the space. There are a lot of fakers out there, but only a few folks who not only KNOW the space, but are building massive companies within the space. One of those guys is Jon Miller - not only is he a renowned speaker and marketer, but he's actually built a $1B company (Marketo). As we all know, content marketing is hard enough - but to be a co-founder of a billion dollar company (and stay all the way through IPO) while also becoming an immovable object in the space? Quite a feat if you ask me. Jon will be helping Scripted establish its own content marketing presence amongst other things.
We are excited to continue this journey and make Scripted a massive company. We now have additional support to help us get there.
