JavaScript Closures
When you define a function in JavaScript, you might create a local variable, assign a value to the variable and then end the function. When you do this, the local variable you created is destroyed when the function ends. The value of the variable is no longer needed because it was local to the function. However, if you define a second function inside the first function, JavaScript’s scoping rules make the first function’s local variables directly accessible by the second function. It’s no longer possible to destroy a local variable when the first function ends, because it might be needed by the second function when that function executes. JavaScript must preserve the values of local variables as they are when the first function ends in case the variables are referenced by the second function. This is called a closure. JavaScript automatically creates a closure whenever you use a function inside another function, use “eval” inside another function or define a variable inside a function without the key word “var.”
Closures are particularly helpful when you need to pass a value to an event handler when an event fires. By wrapping the event handler function in an anonymous function inside the function that contains the value you want to pass, you create a closure. This makes the local variable of the outer function accessible to the event handler at the time the event occurs. You can use this same technique to pass values to a callback function from an AJAX call.

Establishing a strong online presence is the key to doing good business in the 21st century. As a small business owner, your domain name is the first level of interaction that consumers have with your company. Shakespeare might have wondered what’s in a name, but in the competitive world of e-commerce, a domain name is everything. Keep these pointers in mind when leveraging your domain name to boost traffic and sales.
Build Brand Identity
The best domain name you can get for your business is one that matches the company’s name as this strongly builds brand recognition. Keep it short yet catchy, so that it is imprinted in your viewers’ minds. Avoid the use of numbers, hyphens and clever word play; this will only increase the likelihood of people entering the wrong spelling in the address bar when they want to visit your website.
Utilize the Power of SEO
If the company name is not available as a domain, you can use keywords that closely relate to your business offerings. These are words commonly used in web search strings by people who need your products or services, so you are in effect targeting the right audience. Keyword-based domain names improve the website ranking on search results and give your business more exposure to potential customers. They also conveys your expertise and dominance in the relevant industry.
Business owners definitely need to put a lot of thought into their website’s domain name. Their choice has a profound impact on brand identity and search-engine optimization. And why not combine both these advantages? Register several websites with SEO-friendly keywords as domain names and redirect them to your main business website that has the company’s name. This approach of direct browser navigation is very effective in increasing website traffic, and ultimately, boosting your sales and revenue.

Internet T1 and Internet T3 Connections
In order for any company to grow and prosper in today’s fast-paced business world, it is imperative that they have the ability to reach out to employees and customers - regardless of their location. It’s a well known fact that the most successful companies today thrive on ISPs (Internet Service Providers) that provide reliable services complete with a comprehensive list of features that meet their requirements. Internet T1 and Internet T3 lines (also referred to as T-line connections) are telephone lines comprised of either fiber optic or copper wires that offer 24 DS-0 channels.
These channels permit data and voice transmissions at speeds ranging from 1.5 Mega bits per second (for Internet T1 lines) to 45 Mega bits per second (for Internet T3 lines), making them exceptionally faster than alternative services, such as DSL or cable. Along with faster transmission speeds, Internet T1 and Internet T3 lines allow you to conduct multiple local and long distances telephone calls simultaneously without requiring the installation of any additional wires. This saves your company from having to pay for additional installation fees and costly phone charges.
What’s more, is that Internet T1 and Internet T3 connections are often considered an attractive solution for many businesses because they offer an "always on" connection, meaning they run 24 hours per day, 7 days per week? T-line connections also support advanced, high T1-bandwidth applications, including web conferencing, audio conferencing, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and multi-user Virtual Private Networking (VPN).

WHAT IS SEO basically?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the method of enhancing the chances of appearance of a particular website or a web page in the search engines responding to the “natural” or non -chargeable search results. It can however be made more effective by choosing the paid listings or implementing the methods of Additional search marketing (SEM). Usually the traffic of visitors through a particular search engine is determined by the ranking appearance of the website (the more on the top lists, the more visitors) and the appearance continuity in the search results list. SEO my target the categorized search like the image search, local search, academic search, news search, industry etc. This precisely allows a website to have web appearance.
The other witty technique concerning this is Pay per click. It is mostly defined as in between paying per impression and paying per action. When it’s for paying per impression, the traffic usually drawn has low quality profile which is generally generated by the publisher for the advertiser. On contrary if it’s the pay per action, the publisher faces the complications of low converting offers by the advertiser. There the best in both the case is the PPC model, where both the publisher and the advertiser do not have to worry about the sales conversion rate of the target site and the number of impressions it takes to draw the specified number of clicks.
These are all the factors which determine the growth of a website’s search engine marketing.

Hacker. A simple word, varied in meaning. To those not computer savvy, it may paint the picture of some lone criminal, hunched behind a computer screen pale skin illuminated by its glow as he breaks into bank accounts; a pirate and profiteer of the Information Age. Others might envision some teenager who wants to break into things to impress their friends or fuel their desire for carnage and destruction. Some may get a picture of someone like Aaron Swartz in their mind, a kind of tortured genius unable to live up to their own harsh standards for perfection.
Personally, I have been referred to as a hacker at times not as someone who is an elite security mastermind but as someone who has been able to craft together simple solutions to complex problems. A person who is able to feel their way through technology with no previous training; an autodidact. By virtue of being a hacker like this does not make someone a genius though it is a quality that all genius bear. When we break away from the perception that knowledge can only be acquired at some institute, we begin to liberate ourselves from the chains of progress imposed by others. We pose no boundaries for our higher learning, it costs nothing and is valuable beyond measure.
Our value, our worth I believe should not be obtained through some ritual of conformity. It should be evident in our work, exemplified by the words and praise of our peers. Wisdom can never be acquired through words, books or lectures; it is knowledge that has been tempered by experience. Collectively as a society where information, knowledge is readily available, wisdom is truly lacking. It is imperative that we look beyond our self imposed limitations and take charge of our evolution collectively.

Becoming a programmer doesn't necessarily mean you need to invest in expensive software. Most of the tools you need to develop websites, mobile apps and desktop applications are free if you know where to look. One of the most popular software development platforms, Microsoft Visual Studio, actually has an entirely free suite of tools perfect for both beginners and advanced programmers.
You could invest hundreds of dollars on Visual Studio or you could take advantage of Visual Studio Express. While you won't have quite as many features, you can still develop stunning, fully functional programs for the web, mobile devices or the Window's OS. For each type of application you wish to develop, you must download and install a separate Visual Studio Express edition. For instance, web designers and programmers would install the Visual Studio Express Web edition. All editions are completely free.
Within these free editions, you'll find all the tools you need to write, edit and debug your code. For beginners, there is ample guidance in the help section and online tutorials straight from Microsoft. At the very least, Visual Studio Express gives those interested in programming a chance to learn the basics for free while creating apps they can be proud of.
If you've been making do with a basic text editor such as Notepad, now is the time to upgrade. Microsoft recommends Windows XP and higher for all Express editions. Whether beginner or pro, these powerful free tools are worth a look.

Check for Usability!
Before you launch your brand new website, let's talk about usability… what the hell is that? Well, how many of you have sat down at your computer to spend a couple of minutes "surfing the web" only to have the most frustrating experience since you opened that cardboard box your computer came in?
That's where usability comes in… since you are designing a web site for your customers to use, make sure they CAN use it!
Here are some very general usability questions - see if you can answer them all with a "yes"!
Do my web pages load quickly?
It is immediately apparent what my company does or sells?
Is my menu easy to read and navigate?
Is my site organized according to what my customers need?
Is my text easy to read or scan?
Does my site look right when viewed with different browsers?
Are all colors, graphics, and fonts and information consistent on all pages?
Is my company contact information easily available?
Is my site free of unnecessary, moving, jumping, jiggering, flowing thingys?
Does my site offer valuable information?
Now, if you're not sure about these things, do a little testing!
Microsoft invests millions on user testing - I've taken the backstage tour and they have a long corridor lined with little rooms for usability testing. These rooms are fitted out with every imaginable recording and monitoring device known and each room cost upwards of $100,000!
Now, you don't have to go to that degree to find out some basic things about your web site. Try some "friends and family" testing!
Ask some friends or relatives to sit down and try to complete a typical task your customer would want to do on your website. Figure out a few of those "tasks" and ta-da! You have usability testing.
Take notes and see how they do on each of the tasks. Ask 3 to 5 of your friends and relatives to do the same tasks. Make sure they are of varying computer skill levels, and you will see how your site holds up. I am sure you will find some surprises - some oh -nos (how did I miss that one) and at least one - hey, wow, that worked great!

Smart Phone Operating System Trends
With over 6.5 billion mobile subscriptions in the world and nearly 100% penetration of mobile devices in the developed nations it is clear that companies need to have a mobile strategy in place or they are going to be left behind. But which platform(s) should you target?
While smart phone companies do play fast and loose with their sales figures, according to a Canalys report from early 2012, the Android OS holds the edge with 48.8% of the smart phone market, Apple’s iOS had 19.1%, Symbian had 16.4 (although the platform is being phased out), BlackBerry had 10.5%, Windows Phone had 1.4%, and all others had 1.1%. Now these numbers will definitely shift in the next three years.
Most research firms predict that by 2015 Android will still maintain its lead or slip just slightly, Apple’s iOS will drop a few percentage points, Symbian will all but disappear, BlackBerry should grow, and Windows Phone will see the biggest jump up to roughly 20% of the market.
But regardless of what these predictions may or may not say about the smart phone OS wars it’s a good idea to keep in mind that today smart phones only make up about 20% of the total mobile phone market, so even if you develop an Android app you are still only addressing about 11% of the total mobile market and an iOS app can only run on about 4% of all mobile devices.

How does a generator work?
An electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy obtained from an external source into electrical energy as the output.
It is important to understand that a generator does not actually ‘create’ electrical energy. Instead, it uses the mechanical energy supplied to it to force the movement of electric charges present in the wire of its windings through an external electric circuit. This flow of electric charges constitutes the output electric current supplied by the generator. This mechanism can be understood by considering the generator to be analogous to a water pump, which causes the flow of water but does not actually ‘create’ the water flowing through it.
The modern-day generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction discovered by Michael Faraday in 1831-32. Faraday discovered that the above flow of electric charges could be induced by moving an electrical conductor, such as a wire that contains electric charges, in a magnetic field. This movement creates a voltage difference between the two ends of the wire or electrical conductor, which in turn causes the electric charges to flow, thus generating electric current.
Main components of a generator
The main components of an electric generator can be broadly classified as follows (refer to illustration above):
(1) Engine
(2) Alternator
(3) Fuel System
(4) Voltage Regulator
(5) Cooling and Exhaust Systems
(6) Lubrication System
(7) Battery Charger
(8) Control Panel
(9) Main Assembly / Frame
